Ethan and Mary seem to be the perfect couple, but Ethan’s insecurity about how he compares to Mary’s ex-boyfriend, Paul, threatens to consume him. And it’s not just him - it seems like everyone in Mary’s life is still in love with her ex. Really. They’re obsessed with him. And to get him back, they need Ethan out of the picture. NOT PAUL, a new comedy by Clayton Smith, is a surreal, absurd exploration of the things love asks of us: vulnerability, humility… and the occasional blood sacrifice.
